Introduction to Greenland Paddles

$25.00$45.00

The Greenland Paddle (GP), also referred to as a “Stick,” is the original type of paddle developed by the Inuit peoples, who also invented the first sea kayaks. There are a number of advantages to using a Stick instead of the conventional “Euro” or contemporary paddles with which you learned and currently use (including less wind resistance and shoulder strain). While the original GP’s were simply whittled from wood, now fiberglass and carbon fiber are frequent building materials. This 2-hour session will allow one to try out Sticks made of traditional and modern materials and different styles, along with learning some technique.
