Safety and Accessibility

We believe your safety is of utmost importance, and we will not compromise by over-enrolling classes, having you use broken or defective equipment, or by trying to teach you in unsafe conditions.  Virtually our entire lives have been focused on outdoor activities, and we have over 25 years experience, between us, in paddling.  This accumulated knowledge makes us very aware of the significance of changing conditions and helps us to avoid hazards that others miss.

We never lose sight that we paddle in a cold water environment, so we’ll help you plan ahead with skills and knowledge of the right equipment to keep you safe.

We have extensive experience teaching students with a wide range of physical ability, differing body types, and fitness levels and will do everything we can, with an eye on safety considerations, to accommodate you in group classes or one-on-one sessions.  Although we have selected kayaks with varying cockpit sizes, students must be able to fit inside the boats we provide.  Of course, if you have access to a boat that you know fits, we may be able to work with it.  Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have concerns in this area.  We can, and will, adjust our teaching methods and paddling techniques to your individual physicality. After all, the goal is to have you enjoy sea kayaking!
